Staff and Nursing Staff JO BAKER – PRACTICE MANAGER After various other pursuits she decided that small animals are who she wanted to work with most. Jo completed her Certificate III in 2001. Prior to joining Beach Street Veterinary Clinic, Jo worked at the RSPCA Peninsula Animal Aid as a Veterinary Nurse and a Shelter receptionist. Jo grew up in the local area always had numerous cats as pets, whether she would befriend the Siamese cat next door or have a cat follow her home from the shop. All cats where welcomed, lucky for her her mother was just as obesest with cats as she is. Jo is married with 3 children and four cats, Buttons, Snuffles, Little One and Zoey. Buttons and Snuffles (aka Mow) where both adopted from the RSPCA when she worked there. Little One (aka Oney) came into the Beach Street Vet Clinc as a 5 week old kitten who had been in the mouth of a dog..no injuries, her beautiful colouring and similarities to Buttons made Jo fall in love with her. The final addition to the household was Zoey (aka Chunky), unfortunately Zoey was going to be taken to the RSPCA for rehousing because her owners had had a baby. Jo new that Zoey had a very limited chance to be rehoused because of her age and arthritis. Zoey has fitted in well to the household. |
